The implementation of SAPCC (State Action Plan on Climate Change)will be carried out via the subsequent tasks:
- To create two climate change resilient models of integrated agriculture management, including Khazan restoration (being vulnerable to climate change), to support farmers and allied sectors to implement climate-resilient practices in day-to-day farming such as climate-smart community seed banks, in-situ and ex-situ conservation of climate resilient germplasm, including climate-smart paddy varieties (rice park), and other livelihood-based climate resilient activities.
- To enhance climate resilience of low-lying agricultural lands near the coastline of the selected beach stretch / riverine bank areas through appropriate interventions such as control of beach and river bank erosion, and reviving population of edible clams/ Oysters/mussels etc.
- Mainstreaming resilience by coastal management through infrastructure and nature-based solutions (including mangroves, embankments, and bunds), improvement of beaches and khazan lands;management of riverine system, biodiversity conservation, restoration of wetlands etc
