International Day for Biological Diversity-2020

United Nations General Assembly has adopted 22nd May every year as the “International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB)”. India is a party to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and celebration of International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) is held every year. In view of the same, and keeping up the precedent, office of Goa State Biodiversity Board (GSBB) has planned to observe the same for the State of Goa on the theme “Our Solutions are in Nature” to be celebrated on 22nd May 2020.
On the occasion of the International day for Biological Diversity it is also planned to conduct short film making and Photography competition.
Rules and Criteria for the Competitions
1. Short film making competition: “Theme – Our Solutions are in Nature”
1st Prize -Rs. 25000/-
2nd Prize- Rs. 20000/-
3rd Prize -Rs. 15000/-

• Time duration: 8-10 mins.
• Old video clips shot by participant can be added into film.
• Film should be submitted in 1080 MP4 format.
• The film should be a silent film or be in any Indian Language. Preference will be given to silent/ Marathi/ Konkani Film.
• Video should be original. The film should not contain any copyrighted work of any third party. If found plagiarized, video will be disqualified.

2. Photography competition:
1st Prize – Rs. 10000/-
2nd Prize- Rs. 8000/-
3rd Prize – Rs .6000/-

• Photos should be clicked before 30th May 2020 in the State of Goa only.
• Photographs of Flowering and Fruits bearing Plants (preferably among list of plants given below)
• High resolution photograph with natural to color without any filter.
• Photograph should be submitted without any watermark.
• One entry per participant.
• Photo should be original. If found plagiarized, it will be disqualified.

 Entries should submit on or before 1st June 2020 vide email on .
 GSBB reserves the right to retain all the video and photographs entries and the same may be used in future with due credit to the artist/ photographer without any financial compensation.
 Results will be announced in June,2020.
